WERRIBEE coach Simon Atkins is near boiling point after a shocking 96-point loss to Frankston at Frankston Oval on Sunday.
The 22.16 (148) to 6.16 (52) thrashing blew any chance of the Tigers climbing back into the top eight.
The lacklustre Tigers scored just one goal in the second half while the Dolphins generated six consecutive centre clearances in a barnstorming seven-goal third term.
"I think it was a little bit embarrassing. I know the players are hurting and the match committee is hurting,'' Atkins said.
"I reckon our form has been pretty good for four weeks.
We just lost total control of all our structures of play and things that we've done really well over the past four weeks.''
The Tigers were also a shambles in front of goal, going into the main break with 4.10 and finishing with 6.16.
"It's been an issue since round one,'' Atkins said of his side's errant kicking.
"We just keep working on it. At the end of the day, we expect blokes at this level to complete the skill in front of the goals.''
Chanting and bongo-playing filled the ground as the Dolphins kicked clear to record their best result of the season.
Aaron Murray kicked eight for Frankston in a dangerous three-pronged attack that included Justin Berry and Dean Limbach, who snared three each.
Toby Conroy, Neil Winterton and Marcus Marigliani, who shrugged off the tag of Jarrod Young, played dominant roles for the Dolphins.
While the Tigers trailed by 17 points at the main break, they were relentless in the first half of the third term.
At the 12-minute mark, Ben Ross snared a beauty to cut the margin back to 13 points.
But goals to Limbach, Murray, Marigliani, Berry, Chris Oliver and Clint Proctor in quick succession gave the Dolphins a 56-point lead at the final change.
Ben Davies and Jess Sinclair worked tirelessly, racking up 61 disposals between them, while Flinn Chisholm was a rare standout for the Tigers.
Dolphins coach Brett Lovett said he was surprised to win so comfortably.
"I thought our work rate was very good in the first half. I think we just wore them down in the end.
"In such an even comp, any win is a good one.
"So to win by that much, it probably showed our past two or three weeks have been poor.''
The Dolphins' aim is to win two consecutive games for the first time in two seasons.
"We haven't won two in a row so far this year and we didn't last year so we've got Tassie before the state game so it would be nice to win two in a row,'' he said.
The Tigers take on Collingwood at Bartercard Oval on Saturday.
