Eye of Tigers on St Leo re-match

27/08/2008 2:18:00 PM
WERRIBEE Amateurs could meet Emmaus St Leo's three times in four weeks if the latter makes it through to the Victorian Amateur Football Association division D2 grand final.

The Tigers marched on to the grand final after defeating arch-nemesis Emmaus St Leos in a second semi-final at Sportscover Arena, Elsternwick.

The 42-point win was far more flattering for the Tigers hierarchy, coach Kirk Norton said

"I don't think the 42 points was a reflection on the closeness of the game or the spectacle," he said.

"I thought they came out of the blocks pretty quick and kicked the first two goals to nothing and we did what we did against them the week before but we kicked

accurately and kicked the next eight.

"Obviously, our fitness tells in the end and we kept running."

Daniel Lee booted five goals, while Ross Fastuca and Cameron Lee snared four each in the Tigers' impressive win, 2011 (131) to 13.11 (89).

Norton expects to meet Emmaus St Leos in the grand final next week.
